Who Is Eligible?

Ohio law allows the following professionals to redact their home addresses from public databases, including Ohio’s online voter rolls:

  • Peace officers
  • Parole officers
  • Federal law enforcement officers
  • Probation officers
  • Bailiffs
  • Prosecuting attorneys & assistant prosecuting attorneys
  • Correctional employees
  • Youth services employees
  • Firefighters
  • EMTs
  • Investigators of the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation

How to Request Address Redaction

If you work in one of these professions, you can request to have your home address removed from public records. Simply follow the instructions and submit the required form—provided by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office—to your county board of elections.
